Sometimes it's worth getting up at six in the morning and staying out until your fingers turn blue. About a week and a half ago, Glasgow decided to start making a proper go of Winter. Frost, freezing fog, all that good stuff. Everyone else got snow, of course, but we're in a valley, here.

At any rate, it was amazing how quickly the atmosphere of the city changed from 'glum' to 'mysterious and sort of awe-inspiring'. I want more fog.

I wrote this tutorial for AltNation a while back, and I've decided to stick it up here too because it took bloody ages and I may as well do as much with it as possible. It's pretty image-heavy (and interest-light, unless you care about photo stuff, though some of the pictures are quite nice) so it lurks behind a cut.
